There are two shows coming up here in Austin this winter that I am very excited to see: Beauty and the Beast (playing December 14-18) and Wicked (January 25-February 18). A couple of years ago I went and saw Legally Blonde, Rent and Mamma Mia and they were all fantastic! (Rent was a little long, but I wasn't a huge fan of the movie either lol) If you ever get a chance to see Legally Blonde or Mamma Mia live, do it! Both are hysterical.
Now, if you've been living under a rock, Wicked is the story of The Wizard of Oz told from the Wicked Witch of the West's point of view. I've never seen it live but I've read the book the musical was written about and it was pretty interesting to see how much a story can change from the other parties point of view. I've heard nothing but great things about it so I'm really excited to see it!
I've also never seen Beauty and the Beast live (besides at MGM in Disney...well...whatever it's called now, not MGM). It was only a 20 or so minute show but just the emotions the actors are able to bring out and the passion they put into those 20 minutes of acting are amazing. I can only imagine how great the full show will be. I may have shed a tear or two at the one in D.World...hopefully I can keep it together for the 3 hour show here lol.
I only found decent videos for Wicked. Beauty and the Beast's videos were all too old looking to look interesting.
